Thank you, Lord Jesus, that your love is shown through the works of your followers: and that you have sent us your word to sanctify us and make us wholly fit and prepared to do the work of your kingdom and speak the truth in love.

james 4:11, the whole book of romans. the message of the messiah. you will be judged according to how you judge this man. the word says none are worthy, which means you have no right to do such a hatefull thing and then tag in the name of the messiah. paul said any man who claims to have god but does not love his brother is a liar. is this love?

Hi Smith,

Thanks for writing. Let me answer your comment by making a few points. If you decided to write me back please address each one.

1. Did you read my response to Rob Bell's book or did you just comment without reading it?

2. In your comment, you are saying that I'm being judgmental but then you judge what I've written as hateful. So you are telling me I have no right to judge Rob Bell, but then you are judging me. I don't know how else to say it, but that's just straight hypocrisy.

3. You say I have no right to judge what Rob Bell has written but 1 Cor 5:12 says we are to judge those in the church. So do we obey the scriptures and judge his works by the word of God or do we not?

4. Paul in 1 Cor 5:3 passed judgment on a man who committed an immoral act. In 1 Timothy 1:20 Paul warns Timothy about Hymeanaeus & Alexander whom Paul has handed over to Satan so they would learn not to blaspheme. In 2 Timothy 2:18 Paul warns Timothy about two men who are spreading false teaching (like Rob Bell). He warns him about Hymenaeus and Philetus who are teaching that the resurrection is already past. Should Paul not have passed judgment on these men and just "loved" them as you imply? Could you say that Paul was loving the brethren IF he had not warned them about these men? If Paul had not warned the brethren about these men then it would show that Paul did not care for the sheep.

5. When Peter was in error for his hypocrisy Paul rebuked Peter before all the men who were with him. (Galatians 2:11,14) Should Paul have loved his brother and kept his mouth shut as you are saying I should have done?

6. You said "Paul said any man who claims to have God, but does not love his brother is a liar". First of all, Paul did not say that, it was the apostle John.

If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. (1Jn 4:20)

First, I'm not convinced that Rob Bell is a brother. Second, if he is a brother then what he needs is not people silently "loving" him. He needs people to point out his error so that he can repent and stop leading others into heresy.

7. Rob Bell, in his book, has not only judged believers in Christ for their beliefs, but he has judged the God of the bible! Bell implies that those who hold to a traditional view of Hell are like demons, that those who hold to a traditional view of hell are in danger of causing children to stumble and might have a milestone tied around their neck and drowned, Bell says that the God of the bible "can't be loved", etc, etc. Bell judges the God of the bible as wicked, unlovable, and volatile. Have you written Rob Bell to tell him how he has been extremely judgmental and told him that he will be judge for how he has judged others and God?

So, please tell me how I'm being hateful by pointing out the false teachings of Rob Bell. Please tell me how I'm being hateful for pointing out how Bell continually takes scripture out of context to teach something completely false. Please tell me how I'm being hateful for warning brethren about Bells false teaching. In all reality, it would be hateful to NOT warn others about a man who mocks God and twist the scriptures to teach them false doctrine.

It is my desire to see Rob Bell repent and to step down from all ministry as he is unfit to teach anyone. But, it is also my desire to see believer not be fooled by Bells writings. I actually do care about the body of Christ and don't want to see anyone deceived by this man. Sadly, I have seen multitudes who have been deceived by Bell and who drink up his teachings like water. May the Lord deliver them.

Again, if you write me back, please address each point I've made. Also, if you haven't read the response then please read it first...it's only fair.

IN Christ,

Sean Scott

Just wanted to say that I have not read the whole article yet but am thankful for some sound teaching that refutes the deception that is creeping in all over the place.

Rob Bell seems to have one thing right, but only one: that one's doubts and fears should be faced. After years of repressing mine and calling it faith when it was not, I admitted them to God. But He had me repent of them. I was honest and received His grace and mercy.

But this is not good enough for Bell.

I have not read his book, I will not waste money on it. But i have followed the discussion about it and watched youtube videos where Bell has weaseled and wiggled for he lacks the honour to come out with a straight answer.

He is a very dishonest mind and a lazy thinker, and people like you have done well to expose him.

I have looked through your article and will peruse it more closely at my leisure, but my impression is a good one.

Congratulations on having the patience to wade through heresy and respond without losing your temper - this is something that is still beyond me
